ID No.1: Common Greenshank - Tringa nebularia -

Description: Common in Japan as passage or winter visitor. Sometimes Marsh Sandpiper is in their flocks. Aoashi-shigi in Japanese, "ao" mean Blue(or green), "ashi" mean shank(leg) and "sigi" mean sandpiper. BTW, I saw Greenshank, Redshank and Grey-tailed Tattler simultaneously when I took this photo. In Japanese, these three species have color name in their name Blue, Red and Yellow. That's the three primary colors, isn't it? In America, Tattler might replace by Yellowlegs.

Habitat: Mudflats, estuaries, marshes, shallow ponds, reclaimed lands.
